The color of the gear doesn't matter so much as that combined w/ the lack of rep/heroic keys, all indications that you don't spend a whole lot of time in the level 70 5-mans. Nothing personal against you but it's a symptom of the classic syndrome.... the person who wants to reap the benefits of other peoples hours and hours of work.
I have spent hours and hours trying to get the keys, trust me. However, I've gotten tired of trying to run groups where there is a ret pally healing, fury warrior tanking, and 2 other BM hunters trying to DPS. I have done more then my share of pug runs trying to get keyed, I got tired of it, and I stopped running with them.
I do still run 70 5-man instances, but it's hard to find a group that knows what the hell they are doing, and I cannot stand putting up with another pug.
I do not expect to reap the benefits of Momentum without putting forward the work. Since I guess you haven't noticed, I've gotten a total of 2 items since I joined this guild, while I usually end up passing on most items, because people that have been in the guild longer/need the item more then I do want it.

Sounds like you're insinuating I did some sort of backpedaling. Dunno why, all posts I've made are consistent, as well as polite.
Posting on an alt indicates that I want to share my opinions on the thread without dragging my guild into it. Not that I'm "scared" of you, so don't flatter yourself k?
EDIT: And to answer your question, I made the comment that gear color doesn't matter AS MUCH AS gear color + lack of rep + lack of keys. I said this, because I know that there are some decent greens out there that are fine for raiding. I had on at least a few when I started Kara. But I guess I shouldn't have made that comment w/o expecting it to be misconstrued by you. There's a difference b/w having excellent gear w/ a couple of excellent greens thrown in, and just not making any effort to gear up at all and thinking you're doing fine wearing 8 mediocre level 66 quest reward greens.
You saying that you are posting on an alt for the fact that you don't want to bring your guild into this is crap. Even if the GM of a guild would call me out like this, I would think of the guild the exact same as I always have, I would just think of the GM differently.
People should not be scared to post on their main simply because they are afraid of what people will think of their guild, unless they are someone of power in that guild.
I hope that by posting this on my main, people will realize that I do not represent Momentum in anyway at all. I am simply a member of that guild who is being called out by someone who is too scared to post on their main, and I am defending myself. I am not trolling/flaming/spamming like I usually do, in this thread, because e-drama is srss bsnss (damnit... couldn't help it :( ).
8 greens? Buddy, I'm sure you are a 4th grade drop out, but I'm counting 3 quest reward greens. I've had multiple opportunities to upgrade them, but as I said before, I am not a loot whore, and I am not in the guild just to get gear for myself. Believe it or not, some people actually like the thought of doing instances without the incentive of getting something in return.
Since I got banned for "trolling", I'm going to go through and personally reply to all the above alts who called me out.
keyword is "Us" so he is including himself as one of the people to "progress along-side them".
Problem is he only has 1 heroic key, multiple greens, and only honored with the violet eye.
If by improving his gear do you mean going with other people who know what they're doing and getting free epics off VR and Lurker? It seems to me that Odiness is completely skipping the 5 man content and going straight for the epics. If Momentum's plan is to just gear people up really quick, and teach them nothing, they're going to have a hell of a time when they start doing things that are even somewhat challenging. It's going to come bite them in the ass soon when they realize that yeah, all their members are epic'd out, but none of them know how to play their class.
Gear only matters to a certain point, then skill and knowledge come into play.
I did not bypass 5 man content at all. I still run many 5 mans, but as I said above, I am insanely tired of running pug groups with fury warriors, ret pallys, etc... I put up with that until level 70, and I even put up with that for a while longer, but I just can't stand it anymore.
I am not in Momentum for the loot. I have been in here for almost a month, and have only gotten two items. I have missed a total of like 2 raids in that entire time, due to real life.
As for the last part of your post, Gear matters to a certain point. Not only is his gear terrible, but looking at his reps he has put no effort into changing that. you do need a certain level of gear for things, but not knowing how to play your class makes it like your not wearing the gear at all. The fact that he only has 1 heroic key, lots of crafted gear and greens shows that he does not have much experience raiding or even 5 man experience at level 70. That lack of experience means he has no merit saying anything about being on par with Acumen.
You want to know why the servers progression is as bas it is? It's because people like Odiness want free rides through instances and raids for gear and don't want to put any effort in.
Yes, gear does matter. More then you think. But, like you said, skill does matter more.
Now, what I fail to see here, is how the hell you think that there's a connection between skill and rep/heroic gear. The best players in the world (oh god, now they're going to flame me for calling myself "the best player in the world"...) could get tired of running pugs and not get keyed for stuff.
I have plenty of experience playing my class, and in raiding. Sure, I may not be the best DPS out there, but I surpass many who are much better geared then me. Why is that? Because I have the skill to play a Warlock (yeah yeah yeah, call us OP, I don't care).
If I wanted a free ride, I would transfer off this server.
Define in what ways this server is good. Our servers raid progression (With the exception of 1 or 2 guilds) is extremely slow. The population of this server would rather sit in IF and do nothing. Then when raiding guilds try and recruit people, the only people you have to choose from are people like Odiness which leads me to answer the second part of your post.
I know Odiness wants a free ride, If he didnt he wouldn't be doing 25 mans in a raiding guild. If he wanted to work his way up the gear ladder like the rest of us had to, he would be doing 5 mans. (Look at his rep, he obviously is not.)
The third part is completely how you interpret it. Not sure how I am jealous. Just annoyed at the fact that this server is filled with lazy people who want their "pHaT EpiX!1!"
I'm honestly thinking about making a macro to type this for me, since you obviously cannot understand simple logic.
5 MAN PUGS = ANNOYING. FURY WARRRIORS TANKING = ANNOYING. ODI GETS ANNOYED AND STOPS RUNNING PUG 5 MANS = SLOWER HEROIC KEYS.
