mIRC - How to set it up v1.1

mIRC is a chat related program wich can be used to enter chat rooms world wide. mIRC is NOT runescape related but can enter SwiftSwitch runescape chat via a command(will get back to that later) I prefer mIRC instead of SwiftSwitch Chat because it is much more options in mIRC than SwiftSwitch Chat. In mIRC you can enter more chat servers at ones, you can make bots, script for yourself and script for others. Some people think that is much fun in it, like i do Smiley ok let's go over to the ''Setup'' part.
First you need to Download mIRC. Enter www.mIRC.com. In there psuh the buttom where it says ''Download mIRC'' on the left side:
Then when you have pushed it, it will show another page, wich let you to decide wich type of mIRC you want to download. (Please push the one closest to you) :
After that please install it. It's a regular instalation so it wont be that hard. When it's donme installing it will show a squire, hook it of if it says ''Run mIRC'' next to it.
Then it will probally pop up another little box saying mIRC will expire in 30 days. Just ignore that message and push ''Continue''. (NOTE: It will expire, but u can still use it) Ok let's go over to the info part!
When you have pushed ''continue'' on the expire part there will pop up ANOTHER box, telling you to add some information and changing servers:
Add all info. Email, name, Nickname, extra nickname e.t.c! Thats the easy part! Now let's go over to the Server part! There are 2 ways of changing the server here, one is if the server is listed in mIRC you can open it trough a file. The other one is a command to enter it. Let's start with the file Wink On the same picture above you see to the left a ''Servers'' option, it's right under the first option. Push it and you will enter another site. Wich shows a full LOAD of files. Please scroll down and look for the one where it says ''SwiftIRC''.
Push it and push ''Random Servers'' -> Then press ''Ok''. Now time to connect shall we? This is easy Smiley On the top of mIRC there is a little lightning! */\/* Push it and a box will pop up, in there it askes you to join a channel. Type in ''#Fishmarket'' When you have enterd ask there for more info Smiley And NOTE NOTE NOTE: ID at all times and use Runescape nick names.
That was one way of connection to a server. Now i will tell how you enter SwiftIRC server whitout all that, but you need to remember the command in your head, But ones you have typed it it will save on that computer. Now.. After you have enter all your personal info instead of pushing ''Servers'' to the left just type cancel to the right in the bottom of the box, Then you have a line in mIRC at bottom to write stuff, in there we type the commands!
NOTE: I might have a little diffrent Windows Theme and a mIRC Theme then you, but the line is at the same place! Now.. To join a server type /server irc.swiftirc.net -j #fishmarket That command takes you right into Swiftirc net and straight into Fishmarket Channel. like this:
When you have it looking like that push ''Enter'' on your keyboard and youre all set Smiley
Basic commands:
/ns id PASSWORD - This command let's you ID your nick - EX: /ns id Kaiolav
/ns register PASSWORD EMAIL - Register your nick - EX: /ns register Kaiolav terror-nisse@hotmail.com
/join #CHANNEL - Let's you join another channel - EX: /join #fishmarket
/part #CHANNEL REASON - Let's you part a channel of choice with or whitout a part message. ex: /part #fishmarket Bye people - EX: /part #fishmarket OR /part #fishmarket Bye Bye
