okay say that i can have a review for a variety of subjects. this is for an outdoor hiking trail guide page. reviews can be for a restauraunt or hotel or campsite or anything. reviews have a 5 star rating on a variable number of points. A person might want to make up a category, like 5 stars to the trash handling in an area, or 5 stars to front desk staff. so one 5 star rating has a name, rating and id. a review has many of these ratings. ratings also can also be done by any user on any review article by any other user. so not only does the subject of a review get a rating, but the review itself can get a rating. photographys can have a rating. users can get a rating.
so on paper, I have the rating table, and a seperate table that defines 1 record for the (1 or)many points covered and it contains a date, an ip, and a weight. a review has a primary rating, but also has many user ratings tied to it. a user can have many ratings. a photo can as well. One rating though will only ever relate to one of these items. Is this being approached wrong?
