him: oh wait
him: I think we need that done another way
me: Why?
him: it can't actually be random
him: because then we may end up giving out more money than we take in
him: it has to be ever X number of clicks
me: Well, if you set the percent right, it is.
me: at 20%, it is every 5 clicks
me: approximately
him: what would I set it to for every 2000 clicks
me: 1/2000
me: .0005
him: and then I'd just enter $20
me: I would do pay out at least every 100 clicks, I think 2000 is way too rare
him: it's 2000 clicks total
him: not per user
him: how is it setup now
him: per user or per total clicks?
me: they are the same.
him: not really
me: let me explain
him: if its per total user
him: then you can click 1 time and win
him: if it's per user then you have to click 2000 times before you win
me: It's percentages.
me: One user has a 1/2000 chance of being the user with the prize click if we look at it from the total clicks perspective
me: or on the other hand, they ahve a 1/2000 chance that they will win the prize on every click
him: yeah
him: I can't control that
him: thats chance
me: My point is, there is no difference.
him: yeah there is a difference because I need to be able to have enough money to cover the prizes
me: 'Per Total User' and 'Per Total Clicks' is the same thing, when dealing with a percentage.
him: I'm setting a % of the money per click towards prizes
me: each click has the same percentage, wether it is the same user or not
him: right -what I mean is can you change it so it's not percentage, it can't be chance
him: it has to be every 2000 clicks
him: or every x clicks
him: so we can make adjustments
him: to our prize pool
him: do you know what I mean
him: like it has to be every x amount of clicks
him: someone wins
me: I understand what you mean, but you can use statistics and do the same thing.
him: thats chance though
him: I can't calculate for chance in the ad budget
me: It's statistics, it's better than chance. It's highly predictable.
him: yes I understand that, but do you see my predicament
him: how can I put money aside for the prizes if I can't control how much is given out
me: I don't currently track total clicks, it would take a good deal of reworking to change it. I had understood what you wanted to be a random prize, and coded it that way.
me: if you set it at .0005 percent, you will effectively get 1/2000
him: not necessariyly
him: necessarily
him: thats per click
me: Yes neccessarily, it's statistics
him: no it's like a random draw each time
him: with a 1 in 2000 chance of winning
him: if it was per total clicks then yes it would be statisticis
him: but it's per user
him: per click
