I am personally so excited to see the growth of Open Source in Utah. We have such a vibrant community here and I think we can be so much more. Because of this reason, I've started an organization dedicated to Open Source growth in Utah, Utah Open Source. Our focus is currently three fold; Open Source community growth, Business adoption of Open Source technology and promoting technology from within Utah's boundaries.
The folks at Utah Open Source have been working hard for just over a year to help these goals become a reality. The result of this is the Utah Open Source Conference. Because its our premier event, we'd like to see you all there to participate in what is shaping up to be the premier Open Source Conference in the state. This conference is filled with over 20 presentations in 2 days, plus an amazing keynote by Open Source advocate, Bruce Perens.
I invite you all to the Open Source Technology Center at Novell on September 6-8, 2007 for the Utah Open Source Conference 2007 - The Convergence. Learn more about Open Source and its benefits to our community as well as to the world. Learn more about what Utahn's are doing for Open Source. Find out how your business can use Open Source to save time and money. There is something here for everyone and we'll for sure have some surprises up our sleeves too.
Thursday night at 7pm will be Bruce Perens. Friday morning will start bright and early with some amazing presentations, including Voice over IP, Community building, Python and more. Saturday is shaping up to be just as amazing for the Open Source community, business and technology as well.
