Yours in the first mail about a munmap_check issue with glibc. Note that I did *not* upgrade to glibc-2.6 even though it was out well before the release. I'm not exactly trigger happy about last minute upgrades.
Regarding compiz -- if it's part of the X.Org release, it goes into Slackware. You're suggesting I leave something out? Spend some time in my shoes and you see how many people are willing to "build it themselves".
If you want to use outdated software, you can always stick to Slackware 11. I'm not in charge of what upstream does, and have no choice but to either follow along or quickly become incompatible/irrelevant. I'd agree that the quality of what we have to use as building material has gone down in recent years. Got any good ideas?
