AlexSuraci: I'm converting Chyrp from time()-based timestamps to datetime
[12:29am] Zarin: Only in the DB, you still have to use timestamps in PHP
[12:29am] Zarin: It is PHP yes?
[12:30am] Zarin: How do you check to see if something is trademarked?
[12:31am] AlexSuraci: Both, takes some maintenance on both sides
[12:31am] AlexSuraci: Mostly PHP work
[12:31am] AlexSuraci: There's a trademark database, sec
[12:31am] AlexSuraci: http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=searchss&state=3f5p1q.1.1
[12:31am] Zarin: "both sides"?
[12:32am] AlexSuraci: Yea, I just gotta change the time columns from int(10) to datetime and etc
[12:32am] AlexSuraci: It takes more work in PHP though
[12:32am] AlexSuraci: Time() is really easy to work with but datetime is so much nicer to look at in sql. :P
[12:32am] AlexSuraci: And I think I'm done.
[12:32am] AlexSuraci: The archive post grabbing is much much nicer.
[12:32am] Zarin: SQL isn't a programming language so don't label it as one -_-
[12:33am] AlexSuraci: I didn't. :|
[12:33am] Zarin: You are saying it's half-SQL
[12:33am] AlexSuraci: No, I said I had to change the SQL stuff.
[12:33am] AlexSuraci: As in the tablee structure.
[12:34am] AlexSuraci: *table
[12:34am] Zarin: Yeah
[12:35am] AlexSuraci: Wait, I didn't even say that, heh. I just said it took some changes on both sides.
[12:36am] Zarin: Hmmm, considering I said "SQL is not a programming language" I guess how do you explain this: http://dpaste.com/14793/
[12:37am] AlexSuraci: Haha
[12:37am] AlexSuraci: It's a language you don't use often directly. :P
[12:37am] Zarin: =3
[12:38am] AlexSuraci: Especially with Rails taking the spotlight these days, eh?
[12:38am] Zarin: Rails isn't a language -_-
[12:38am] Zarin: It's a framework
[12:38am] Ryan: lol
[12:38am] AlexSuraci: I know that. I never even said it was a language. :P
[12:38am] AlexSuraci: Touchy touchy...
[12:39am] Zarin: No... no you didn't
[12:39am] Zarin: And there's more talk of Django and RoR these days
[12:39am] AlexSuraci: I haven't seen much talk of Django, I guess since I haven't been looking.
[12:39am] Zarin: Actually yes you did
[12:39am] Zarin: Through sentence linking
[12:39am] Zarin: =3
[12:40am] AlexSuraci: No I didn't, I said SQL as a language isn't being used as much now that Rails is getting big.
[12:42am] Ryan: Therefor implying that Rails is a language. Anyways, It doesn't really matter, so just drop it :P
[12:42am] AlexSuraci: I don't see how that implies rails is a language, it could be anything that causes SQL to be used less.
[12:43am] • AlexSuraci kicks the dead horse
[12:43am] Ryan: Just drop it.
[12:44am] AlexSuraci: :|
