It's come to my attention that some of the legitimate servers out there that use donations to pay for server costs alone are now worried that we'll be cracking down on them.
Running a server can be extremely difficult, considering now that most servers own dedicated boxes that can cost up to $200/mo. We are not going to be denying you the ability to donate, we're only making the word donation mean donation again, not buying.
I'd like to stress that the only people that have to worry are those that:
a) Have a store and call it donating
b) Misuse donated money
c) Cheating or using misleading advertising practices (Ex: Forging stat.xml to show 1000 players when you have 12)
Such practices are inherently bad and would not be allowed in a legitimate business environment anyways.
Also, if we do have an issue with your servers, we will contact you and attempt to reach a resolution that can be mutually beneficial, rather than just hack away.
The issue with WoWscape is getting out of hand and to be honest, we're going to be throwing everything we have at them. They've already threatened to re-release Antrix src as something else among other things, such as claiming I'm not even the developer.
