Sorry for the late response, I've been busy, and I had to make sure I
got you legit answers before I fired back an e-mail.
1) A sub-domain is no-go, really. We can't turn around and host another
wiki, nor can we break MediaWiki up. We can only offer to put you in the
Wikichan system, not much else.
2) That would be fine, but I doubt it would be necessary. Wikichan is
absolutely huge, and having a sysop dedicated only to certain articles
is somewhat odd. Why not just have an existing op help you out, or find
someone more unilateral?
3) We do backups, but that's up to our server host- and he really kinda
does things at his convenience. I can't guarantee he'd be able to
provide you more than I would- but it's entirely possible.
4) Yeah, but it depends on the legality, obviously.
5) No.
6) You'd have to ask the guy donating the server. I doubt it, but it's
always possible.
7) Possibly, but keep in mind this is Wikichan- we're not creating a
sub-board.
8) No comment.
9) I take bits of their hair home and collect it in a jar which I
breathe out of.
10) An MMORPG project which I'm on the team of. It won't be done for a
year at least, and it's going especially slow, so...
Anyway, tell me what you think. I'm willing to try to bend any way I can
to provide you guys piggyback hosting, but keep in mind we really can't
do much more than add you into the Wikichan thing and give you a section
(like, "Raids" or something, who knows). It's somewhat difficult to do
much else on our system, unfortunately- so it's really up to what you
guys want to do.
Thanks,
Wikisysop
