<Jack_Sparrow> Hi all. I am running Ubuntu, I have ie 5.5 and ie 6 installed and working in order to get quicken working under wine. The quicken install fails to find IE anyone here able to help
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, and how did you installed ie?
<Jack_Sparrow> with the script ies4linux
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, now read the topic please
<Jack_Sparrow> DOnt see anything there that pertains
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, IEs4Linux are NOT supported here
<Jack_Sparrow> NOt looking for support for that.. it worked and I have ie
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, remove ~/.wine dir, then head to http://appdb.winehq.org/ for more info
<vitamin> If you need to install something that requires ie and you really want to install ie - then do it
<vitamin> ON PLAIN WINE
<Lambrini> Why so loud vitamin? Keep it down!
<Jack_Sparrow> I didnt get any help asking how to install IE so I used a script.. now you say you wont help because I used a script.. catch 22
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, ies4linux brakes Wine
<vitamin> That broken configuration is not supported
<vitamin> Wine does not support _running_ IE on perpose
<broken> sorry :/
<Jack_Sparrow> That I can understand.. like that craxxy script automatix
<Pandoraxero> it brakes wine? as in slows it down?
<vitamin> If you have an app that needs ie - install IE (it will not work on Wine but app will see it)
<vitamin> Pandoraxero, No it _brakes Wine_
<straw> s/brakes/breaks/
<vitamin> which ever ;-)
<Pandoraxero> sorry, i pick on spelling...
<Jack_Sparrow> So, install ie in a way that does not work in order to get an app that uses ie to work.
<Pandoraxero> i even do that with my own spelling mistakes >.>
<vitamin> Jack_Sparrow, I don't care what you do with IE, but you can't use it with Wine in supported way
