Pisząc regulamin staraliśmy się, aby był on prosty, przejrzysty i nie zawierał prawniczego bełkotu, ponieważ takich regulaminów nikt nigdy nie czyta. Poniżej znajdziesz najważniejsze zasady w formie zrozumiałej dla każdego.

Zasady korzystania z konta

1. Z serwera korzysta wiele osób, należy to mieć na względzie przy uruchamianiu programów lub usług. Nie należy utrudniać pracy innym użytkownikom.

2. Zabronione jest celowe naruszanie stabilności serwera oraz jego przeciążanie. Tym samym niedozwolone jest uruchamianie procesów mocno obciążających procesor, dyski i pamięć jak np. SETI@home oraz wszelkiego rodzaju stress testy i benchmarki. Przypadki takie będą traktowane bardzo surowo.
> 2. Deliberate violating of server's stability is prohibited. It is prohibited to run processess which heavily use processor, drives or memory, such as SETI@home, benchmarks and stress test. Such violations will be treated strictly.
3. Zabronione są wszystkie formy prób naruszania zabezpieczeń oraz prywatności innych użytkowników, a także:
* skanowanie portów
* używanie exploitów, mail-bomberów, flooderów oraz podobnych narzędzi,
* wyprowadzanie ataków typu Denial of Service
* wykorzystywanie znalezionych luk w zabezpieczeniach; należy zgłosić je administratorom za pomocą bugzilli.
> 3. It is prohibited to try to violate security of the server or other users' privacy, and also:
* to scan ports
* to use exploits, mail bombers, flooders and similar tools
* performing DoS attacks
* exploiting holes in the security system, such holes should be reported on rootnode's Bugzilla
4. Ze względu na problemy wydajnościowe zakazane jest kompilowanie i uruchamianie programów torrentowych innych niż Vtorrent.
> 4. Because of performance issues, it is prohibited to compile and run any torrent programs apart from Vtorrent
5. Zabronione jest obchodzenie ograniczeń zajmowanego miejsca (quota) przez zmianę właściciela pliku, na np. www-data. W przypadku wykrycia rozbieżności między zajętością dysku podawaną przez narzędzie quota, a wielkością katalogu użytkownika, będą podejmowane odpowiednie kroki.
> 5. It is prohibited to bypass quotas, e.g by changing file owner to www-data. In case of finding a difference between quota and and the size of user's directory appropriate steps will be taken.
6. Zabronione jest hostowanie stron o tematyce dziecięcej pornografii, a także publiczne udostępnianie nielegalnego oprogramowania i filmów.
> 6. It is prohibited to host webites containing child pornography and publically rendering accessible illegal software/music/films.
Założenie konta
> Making an account.
1. Konta shellowe są przeznaczone jedynie do użytku przez czlonków Rootnode.
> Shell accounts are to be used only by Rootnode users
2. Aby przystąpić do stowarzyszenia należy:
* wypełnić formularz na stronie Załóż konto akceptując tym samy regulamin,
* wypełnić kartę członkowską i odesłać na adres podany w mejlu potwierdzającym założenie konta,
* uiścić składkę członkowską przelewem na konto bankowe
3. Składka członkowska jest naliczana za okres od dnia 20 Marca 2007 do dnia 20 Marca 2008, niezależnie od tego, w którym momencie nastąpiło przyłączenie do stowarzyszenia. Po dniu 20 Września 2007 składka jest redukowana o 50%.

1. Naruszenie regulaminu wiąże się z konsekwencjami, w zależności od stopnia przewinienia:

* upomnienie przez administratora,
>* a rebuke from an adim
* zabicie procesu lub wycięcie hosta na firewallu (tymczasowe),
>* killing a process or cutting off the host in the firewall (temporarily)
* czasowa blokada konta (do wyjaśnienia sprawy),
>* temporary blocking of the account untill the case is resolved
* odebranie możliwości korzystania z danej usługi (np. www, email),
>* banning a certain service (e.g. www, email)
* usunięcie konta bez możliwości odzyskania opłaty członkowskiej (w skrajnych przypadkach).

2. Odpowiedzialność za umieszczanie treści niezgodnych z prawem europejskim ponosi wyłącznie użytkownik

Zgłaszanie problemów i pytania

1. Wszelkie zapytania, takie jak błędy, prośby, propozycje oraz problemy techniczne należy zgłaszać za pomocą Bugzilli. Przy zgłaszaniu ticketa należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę na:

* właściwie dobrany tytuł
> choosing an appropriate title
* prawidłową kategorię
> choosing appropriate category
* opisanie problemu, aby administratorzy nie musieli zgadywać, co autor miał na myśli

2. W przypadku awarii Bugzilli, możliwe jest przesyłanie emaili na adres zbiorczy admins@rootnode.pl. Tam należy także kierować korespondencję prywatną.
