<Craigwd2000> Do you mind if I ask you a long winded question? It's regarding the state of the Mac community. I think they may have lost faith in Mozilla.org. I'm not really sure why though.
<gavin> uh, sure
<gavin> I'm not sure why you're asking me about this
<Craigwd2000> I just need help with this. I was about ready to explain why & how m68k & PowerPC are very different architectures. Even Apple's attempt to introduce PPC code in Mac OS 7.1.2 proves this. It's so bad that's it gotten to the point where Mac users are forced to use Mac OS 7.5.5 since it's the only decent OS Apple legally supports at all on most old Macs. They're not telling the whole truth either. They've even deliberately hidden ne
<Craigwd2000> Users of older Macs have limited browser options. Until recently Mozilla unofficial port of Mozilla 1.3 back-ported to Mac OS 9 was a option for Power Mac users. Now that Mozilla has stopped making a Mac OS 9 branch we have no where to go. The only other decent browser for Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS 9.2.2 is Opera. Even then there's issues too. Like how Opera revealed their license codes for all but their Mac OS 9 version of the b
<gavin> why are you telling me about this?
<gavin> you're complaining that Mozilla has stopped releasing browsers for Mac OS 9 ?
<gavin> (also, your messages seem to be truncated)
<Craigwd2000> So we can get a decent browser for people with older Macs. They don't trust running their Macs on anything other than what Apple supports. In the case of 68k Macs it's becoming quite problematic. The only OS that they still support is Mac OS 7.5.5. Isn't that awful?
<gavin> I have no idea
<gavin> why are you telling me about this?
<Craigwd2000> To raise awareness. Isn't their anyone who cares about this?
<gavin> cares about people with old macs that can't get new software? not really
<gavin> but specifically, I'm asking why did you choose to raise awareness with me, on this network?
<Craigwd2000> Forget it. If no-one cares I guess that's the end of it then.
