vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following command:
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl.

You should be able to go through and rerun the /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl command to re-configure your VMWare Server. I saw this same message when I had updated my rPath kernel to 2.6.16.18 or rPath (1.0.2). A quick reconfigure and I was back in business again.
