<Floris> there are enough reasons why i wouldn't want to buy the iphone
<Floris> one is that you're stuck to a data plan
<Floris> two year contract
<Floris> and monthly varying bills
<Floris> something i wouldn't want to pay, after paying 500+ for the phone with contract already
<Floris> i rather drag my laptop with me.
<Floris> So, we will see what the future brings.
<Floris> A perhaps more important reason why I like the iphone
<Floris> is because i think this forces competition to push the market to better phones
<Floris> thy update a lot
<Floris> but update the same
<Floris> the iphone skips a generation, and now everybody has to move towards that to stay up to date.
<Floris> pushing technology is something i am for
<Floris> it ends up with affordable $99 phones with no data plans in a few years.
<Floris> and that's when i would consider that the iphone is affordable for consumers, and reasonable to have a contract for too, without the costs of a data plan
<Floris> seeing how wimax is being covered by towns more and more.
<Floris> i rather see these changes start up now
<Floris> then in 5 years from now
<Floris> if the argument is : nothing new
<Floris> then how come the iphone is th first to put it together with nice os, nice functionality, slick design, etc.
<Floris> 1+1+1+1+1== win
<Floris> others have +1.
<Floris> that's it
<Floris> besides a nice touch screen, slick design, .. it's getting there.
<Floris> and pushing the market
<Floris> companies and technogoly
<Floris> if microsoft would have done this, it would have been done a year ago, and we'de be having affordable touch screen systems now for consumers and not just c+ developers ;)
