We currently are using Sarge/i386 with an smp kernel on a 32 bit dual PIII server.
We are just about to buy 2 DUAL CORE OPTERON BASED servers.
We were wondering if the AMD64 arch installation would support all of our needed services life nfs,ldap, mysql, samba, cups so on and so forth. Are there any draw abcks of oging to a 64 bit arch?
Someone on the #debian channel also mentioned to me that I can run i386 arch on teh dual 64 bit based system. What are the main differences of running i386 and AMD64?
Please help.
