In Spook

In Spook, we meet Richard Sanderson, director of the London Musicians' Collective, also known as Richard of Hume, who makes strange songs with a laptop and a melodion, or covers the early Fall in The Hideous Replicas. As an essayist, Sanderson pleads for more skepticism and rationality in counterculture, the descent of which into paranoia, snobbishness, and yet simultaneously relative openness to esotericism, occultism and all sorts of 'alternative' nonsense around the 'alternative' way, he ruthlessly takes hostage. In short, he combines the motto "It ain't necessarily so" with the positions of "Ort der Skepsis" [The Skeptical Place] and "Weder - Noch" [Neither, Nor] - like Bad Alchemy.
