10:51 < linux_galore> I checked the logs and (sshd's into the machine fine) and it showed nothing then I just restarted the network stuff and it seemed to work,
this morning it decided to just not work at all, or work intermittently
10:52 < linux_galore> I could sshd into the machine but it took ages to make the connection
10:53 < evil_steve> sounds like a reverse DNS problem. My remote (wireless connected) boxes do that..they can't do a lookup, so take forever for the time out.
10:53 < linux_galore> decided to make a physical visit to the machine and turn it off, thats when I noticed the router was flashing like a walk sign even though the
server was off
10:54 < linux_galore> replaced the cable and it is all working fine now
10:54 < mlh_> .... but ...
10:54 < mlh_> (music) ... for how long ?
10:55 < linux_galore> lucky I keep a ro;; of cat5 cable around
10:55 < linux_galore> roll*
