Just because I apparently hurt her (Response to my have-a-good-life-no-hard-feelings text: "Hard feelings.") and she still can't get over it, doesn't give her the right to restrict your friends. She's painfully manipulative, because she understands the value of friendship (I assume) or at least she understands how painful it is to lose one. And she takes advantage of that to keep her friends in check.
(15:23:01) BlackDragonHunt: As I said in Institutionalized... friends are the most important things in the world. She's taken that to an almost sociopathic (sans violence) extreme. She knows she's got leverage over you, and if she doesn't want you to talk to me, she'll firstly assume you aren't until she finds out you are and then treat the situation like you promised you would never talk to me again, and verbally rape you, even though you don't deserve it.

(15:24:40) BlackDragonHunt: You're not a traitor, you're not treacherous, you're not betraying her. She's just being a manipulative bitch (and really not that great of a friend either). The only way you'll get past that is to lay down the law and tell her that she's got no fucking business snooping around in your private life without your permission and that you'll be friends with whomever you want to be friends with and she has no right to berate you for being my friend or anyone else's friend. Take control of her. If you can't win those rights, she's not worth keeping as a friend, end of story.

It's almost kind of our job to give her a smackdown into reality so she'll wake up and see that roses aren't red because they're bleeding.

(15:47:55) BlackDragonHunt: We're at a metaphorical cusp, I suppose. A ton of things can be changed right now if they need to, or they can be opted to remain the same. You're fighting a battle on two fronts, and as I said, need to focus on Basi first so you don't get split-headed and collapse on both. You need to push Basi hard, very, very hard. If she can't see or she can't accept the things you're saying (which are fully valid and respectable points), you can either wade through the shit for four more years (which I highly recommend against), you can push her away for a little, see how she reacts to losing you for real (meh, not-as-effective-but-viable option), you can lay down almighty heaven's lightning and hope she lives through the burns (second, more-scathing attempt), or you can leave her alone, let go of her entirely, switch to different room mates, different classes, stay out of her life, and be done with it.
(15:49:37) BlackDragonHunt: There's a point where you have to decide if a middle-school attraction was really as real-to-life as it seemed back then, and if a friend is worth keeping. You're direly approaching that point. It's scary... Yes. But truth be known it has to be conquered.

There are some things I just won't deal with from anyone... and if I let that be known and can't get it changed, the person's not worth it. What Basi's doing to you is one of those things I refuse to deal with beyond reasonable mark. But yes, she is your best friend, and that's an important thing, too. Just don't dismiss the possibility she won't change and that you'll have to reassess her standing in your life (don't let it take you over, either, by all means fight against it, but don't ignore it either).
