Todd,

Normally that is the case, but in the event that the ship's CO and the GM Mentor feel that a GM Trainee candidate has met the all other requirements, the stipulation that a candidate must finish the sim can be wavied. This was the feeling of both parties in your case.

I will always be available if you need any assistence.

Jody Romero, AGMDir.

In light of responses to my announcement, I will continue let you know why I made the decision I did.

Ogre 1.7 states the following regarding the GMT program:
"- The Gamemaster Trainee shall run his training mission, conferring with his Gamemaster Mentor as needed. In order to complete the program, the Gamemaster Trainee must run the mission to successful completion."

It also states:
"The Gamemaster Department shall serve as a resource to Gamemasters, COs, and the membership on matters relating to GMing and in-character activity through those means deemed most expedient and useful to STF and the membership ."

I decided, in my authority as AGMDir, to do what I felt was "deemed most expedient and useful to STF and the membership".

Todd was placed aboard the Athena on December 27, 2006. His 90 day review was on March 27. A 30 day extention was granted after that with a review on April 27.

During the last review process I saw what I felt was satisfactory progress. The Athena had undegone a CO change as well as an incident with a disruptive player. Either of these incidents could have caused serious problems for a new GM. It was felt that Todd handled both incidents well and that futher oversight would have been unnecessary.

Upon discussing these indicents with the current administration, since the GMDir is unavailable, I asked if it was possible to forgo the requirent of finishing the sim. I received a yes.

While my decision was made during the absence of the GMDir, I stand by it. If the GMDir overturns my decision, that his his perogative and I will not take offense.

Jody Romero, AGMDir.
