<B_Lizzard> You are a potato
<GR33NGOBLIN> attack of the killer potatoes
<Kristoffer> My head hurts like hell :( and no painkillers anywhere
<B_Lizzard> There's Judas Priest
<B_Lizzard> I feel pretty crappy too
<Kristoffer> THIIIIS ISSSSS THE PAINKILLERRRR
<B_Lizzard> :D
<B_Lizzard> YEAH!
<B_Lizzard> What an epic song :)
<wicked> epic is an irc client :P
<B_Lizzard> I just finished seeing a Lars Von Trier movie
<B_Lizzard> And I'm feeling a bit down
<wicked> git up git git down, 911 is a joke in y0 town.
<B_Lizzard> But as a teacher at school used to say "To reach high, you have to start from the bottom"
<GR33NGOBLIN> " to get high, you gotta start with a pipe"
<B_Lizzard> A bong is better
<GR33NGOBLIN> I agree
<GR33NGOBLIN> But...
<GR33NGOBLIN> gotta start small
<GR33NGOBLIN> and reach for the top
<B_Lizzard> A smoke?
<GR33NGOBLIN> hahaha, yah
<B_Lizzard> The best joint in town
<GR33NGOBLIN> Jay-lime
<B_Lizzard> I'M SEEING COLOURS
<chazco> Kristoffer - the new site has to stay in /portal btw, it wont work in the root dir
<GR33NGOBLIN> anywho... time for a motorcycle ride
<GR33NGOBLIN> bbl
<-- GR33NGOBLIN has quit ("quiting is for losers")
<Kristoffer> chazco oki
<B_Lizzard> loser
<B_Lizzard> Is the new site ready then?
<chazco> mostly
<B_Lizzard> We should migrate the gallery to the forums or something
<Kristoffer> Righty
<Kristoffer> A perfect job for , El Blizzardo
<Kristoffer> thanks for volunteering
<chazco> there is a gallery module for the new mxbb apparantly
<Kristoffer> Oh
<chazco> but its not offically supported, so im wary of trying it
<B_Lizzard> :D
<Kristoffer> C'est un chien sur la table
<B_Lizzard> There is a cat under the table?
<B_Lizzard> Have you been watching Eddie Izzard?
<Kristoffer> No a dog, on the table
<Kristoffer> :D
<Kristoffer> haha
<Kristoffer> good guess
<B_Lizzard> :D
<-- childintime has quit ("die()")

<B_Lizzard> Andrej Zulawski is god
<B_Lizzard> So, Kristoffer, I was meaning to ask, does RTC work in 2.6.21?
<B_Lizzard> And, does it keep time even if you reset to wince?
<Kristoffer> B_Lizzard Yes it does, and it should keep time while you are suspended in linux
<Kristoffer> Not sure about wince, but I would guess so
<B_Lizzard> Oh, great
<B_Lizzard> Cause the broken clock is really annoying
<B_Lizzard> What about sound and microphone?
<Kristoffer> Sounds should work
<Kristoffer> microphone, most likely not
<B_Lizzard> Sorry if I'm interrupting anything, feel free to tell me to fuck off
<B_Lizzard> Ah
<Kristoffer> or I've never touched it
<B_Lizzard> OSS, right?
<Kristoffer> Yeah, Will see if I cant get an alsa driver going soon
<B_Lizzard> OSS is better
<B_Lizzard> We won't need multiple sounds anyways
<B_Lizzard> And most applications support OSS anyways
<B_Lizzard> anyways
<Kristoffer> Yes, its more that OSS will be removed whenever and would be nice to have a alsa driver there
<B_Lizzard> Ah, OK
<B_Lizzard> You don't need to push yourself so much though
<Kristoffer> no worries, its almost last on list
<B_Lizzard> A *very* big list, that's exactly what I'm talking about. :)

<signal11> OSS is deprecated
<B_Lizzard> :D
<signal11> even though it might have more app compatibility
<B_Lizzard> This is like watching "Clerks"
<signal11> I used OSS for the longest time on my desktop since it had very good support for my card
<B_Lizzard> Are you sure you're not Silent Bob?
<signal11> but then the latest flash player is alsa-only (absolutely no support for OSS... completely opposite from the v7 one)
<B_Lizzard> Yeah, and ALSA is better nowadays
<olegfink> alsa is more promising
<olegfink> especially that ASoC stuff
<signal11> I sort of liked OSS though... if the card supported it well, it was nice and easy
<signal11> just either compile in support or load a single module (actually two I think, but not the 29470324 ALSA requires) and it's done
<signal11> no userland
<B_Lizzard> No support for software mixxing, though
<B_Lizzard> Or crappy support, anyways
<signal11> userland software mixing
<signal11> well, I think ALSA is too
<signal11> it just has an easier way of doing it
<signal11> the card in my desktop has hardware mixing, so that wasn't an issue
<olegfink> alsa kicks in automatically
<signal11> you could open /dev/dsp 96 times IIRC
<B_Lizzard> OSS is very low-maintenance, and I like that
<B_Lizzard> :O
<olegfink> that's nice for so-called dekstop distros
<B_Lizzard> 96 times?
<signal11> I think
<olegfink> I bet 16
<signal11> I think it was more than 16
<signal11> doesn't really matter, it was plenty
<B_Lizzard> Yeah
<signal11> I'm not sure if it's doing software mixing with ALSA or not right now
<B_Lizzard> And anyways, I don't think the Jornada could keep up with many channels anyways
<signal11> my laptop definitely uses software mixing with ALSA
<B_Lizzard> dmix is the part that does the mixing
<B_Lizzard> It used to be switched-off by default, but I think it became stable enough some time ago
<B_Lizzard> And they enabled it for everyone
<B_Lizzard> I remember that playing multiple sounds a year ago was hell :)
<B_Lizzard> They've certainly made jumps
<Ken|JLime> B_Lizzard btw, checkout mocp, its a really good player
<B_Lizzard> Yeah, I know
<Ken|JLime> would be nice to have on hp6xx/hp7xx
<B_Lizzard> I used to use that some time ago
<B_Lizzard> Until we get a working sound server, I cannot use it, though
<B_Lizzard> madplay doesn't need a sound server
<B_Lizzard> And it can play things from stdinput, which makes it good for podcasts and the like
<B_Lizzard> wget <url> -O - | madplay -
<B_Lizzard> And I think it doesn't compile anyways
<Ken|JLime> nice
<B_Lizzard> Yeah, I know

<chazco> hi
<B_Lizzard> Hello
<Ken|JLime> hello
<B_Lizzard> Is signal11 talking common, then?
<B_Lizzard> I was pleasantly surprized
<chazco> whats up?
<B_Lizzard> Well, apart from signal11 rising from the dark once again, nothing :)
<chazco> really? quote it
<B_Lizzard> Twas a conversation
<B_Lizzard> I'll save it
