Once the IP address of the TFTP server has been identified,
follow these steps:
1. Copy the firmware update files (WDAP5000.bx and
WDAP5000.bZx) to a known path location on the TFTP host.
2. Bring up the Access Point web interface and select the
Firmware Update link (located under the System Setup
category in the configuration tree).
3. In the TFTP Server Address field, enter the IP address of
the TFTP server.
4. In the File Path field, enter the path to the firmware
update files. This path must be defined relative to the
"root" path referenced by the TFTP server on the host
machine. For example, if the files on the host machine are
located in c:\abc\123, and the TFTP server references c:\ as
the root path, you would need to enter "abc\123" in the Path
field. Note that you should not enter a leading slash. If
the update files reside directly on the TFTP root path,
this field can be left blank.
5. The bootblock file update should be performed first. In the
File name field, enter the bootblock filename (WDAP5000.bx).
Be sure and include the extension (the entry does not need to
be case sensitive).
6. Click the Update Firmware button, and then click OK. DO NOT
remove power from the Access Point or interrupt the process
once it begins (interrupting the bootblock file update
process could leave the Access Point in an unusable state).
7. When the "File update complete..." message is displayed,
click OK. Do not restart the Access Point at this time.
8. In the File name field, enter the firmware filename
(WDAP5000.bZx)
9. Click the Update Firmware button, and then click OK.
10. When the "File update complete..." message is displayed,
click OK.
11. Click Restart AP to restart the Access Point.
