From listening to stories to news broadcasts I have always wonder what it is like for a American soldier to prepare for Iraq and what is like while over their. From the flight the gear the living spaces the saying goodbyes are all I want to learn bout. The life among people not of your culture helping complete strangers who u may never see again.
To answer this question I looked in many sources and even interviewed a soldier who was gearing to leave. I gather information from news broadcasts such as the today show, cnn, and local news. Looked into articles in the newspaper on the happenings over seas. The web also brought many first account storied form Iraq and what the troops did over their.
From sources like cnn and the today show I found about the state of living for the troops. That they played volleyball had Internet access can keep in touch with family much easy. That some of the troops felt they were in a war they weren't allowed to win. How they missed family. This was what I got form these sources
Articles form the sun journal and the local news. Gave me stories of how families n my area where coping with the son death in the war or his going away. Also showed local homecomings and what people around my residence where doing to support the war. A story told of how family leaves a fake solider outside with a bag and ask for supplies to send to their son.
From the interview of a friend Brandon hiller I learned how he had to pack up all his stuff in his apartment and stop paying bills tier and store his stuff at a pals while he leaves. He goes all around the country visiting his family on his break time. He also never knew when has been getting shipped off till 2 weeks before so it’s not a great warning time ahead.
To back this up I just spoke with him a day ago. He has the ability to log on over there and play games or talk with friends. He says hes in Kuwait now but he doesn’t even know where his unit is being put. There is a lack of command in Iraq and is worrying and shouldn’t exist.
In conclusion the journey to Iraq for a soldier is a long one and requires much vists but is an enjoyable experience and nets much money for one. I enjoyed this I search much and appreciate what I have learned
