Sorry for the japano avoidance, but theyre making me do it closer to their way; and instead of using the webbot to put the page together I wanna do it all ajax-likeonly I cant afford IEs 10x slower performance with the DOM, so Im going with innerHTML instead. If I wanna load a bunch of different portions of the page from different files, and I make the requests asynchronous but put the whole process inside a function and call it with parameters for id and xmlhttprequest object, would that be just as slow as doing synchronous requests, or would it call all the functions while it waited for the others to finish?
As in:
var phonePart = new ActiveXObject(Msxml2.XMLHttp.3.0);
var calendarPart = new ActiveXObject(Msxml2.XMLHttp.3.0);
updatePage(phonediv,phonePart);
updatePage(calendardiv,calendarPart);
function updatePage(id,ajax)
{
ajax.open(GET,parts/+id+.htm,true);
ajax.onreadystatechange = function(){
if (ajax.readystate == 4 && ajax.status == 200) {
document.getElementById(id).innerHTML=ajax.responsetext
}
}
}
