Mom has told me that she believes that there is no wrong path that we can take, that God will use us no matter what decisions we make. She has told me that the stuff we do now, in our youth, is like the footwork, its what we have to do to learn what we need to accomplish what God has planned for us, and I belive that God would not give us a task He didn't think we couldn't complete. So just because you don't know all of what you are doing or need to be doing, its ok, because God has you in his hand, and noone can take from what is in the Father's hand.
