I am writing this message with regard to the recent transfer of the #GPE IRC channel on Freenode to a party unaffiliated with the GPE software produced by handhelds.org, of which Mr. George France is president.
The "GPE" trademark is registered under Mr. France's name in the United States Patent and Trademark Office's trademark registration databases as serial number 77123546, which defines said trademark as covering a "Software application and user interface for handheld devices". This trademark was registered March 6, 2007 by Mr. France and has been in use since March 2002.
I believe that Mr. France has a legal right to the ownership of the #GPE IRC channel on Freenode, given this trademark registration. I ask that you consider settling this agreement by reverting ownership of the channel to Mr. France or one of his designees.
