When there is a will, there is a way. I hold this statement true to everything that I am interested in doing. This life changing lesson did not come from some profound book instead it came from somewhere one would least expect, a hockey goal. One night my friends and I saw a hockey video of a goal made by a Michigan player who had masterful stick handling skills, and made a bet about who would be the first to be able to do this Michigan goal. At that time I had absolutely no stick handling skills because of how late I was introduced into hockey compared to all my other friends who started hockey when they were less than 10 years old. Knowing that I am lagging behind, I watched the video repeatedly, and for two weeks instead of playing computer games or hanging out with friends, I practiced the trick. After those two weeks when I finally mastered the Michigan, and showed it to my friends, they were dumbfounded at how I could have learned it so quickly. Looking back at this little event in my life, I can safely say that I know there is a way for me to succeed in Temple, because I have the will to succeed. No matter what obstacles might get in my way, I know that I have the will to take whatever is necessary to go through that obstacle.
