Dear kind gentlemen of #apache:

I want canonical URL's for my sites for SEO/pagerank reasons, and thus want: site.com to 301 to www.site.com as well as /index.php to 301 to /

This is what I have in httpd.conf:

      ServerName www.thetylerproject.com
      ServerAlias thetylerproject.com

      RedirectMatch permanent ^/?$ http://www.thetylerproject.com/
      RedirectMatch permanent ^/index.php$  /

But now I get a 500 error for some reason when attempting that.
