register on freeswitch.org for a user account
get subversion
download the svn trunk
# svn co http://svn.freeswitch.org/svn/freeswitch/trunk freeswitch --username tainted
make sure you have wget and gmake in path
# which wget
# which gmake
go into your freeswitch directory
# cd freeswitch
configure it
# ./configure
copy the modules file
# cp modules.conf.in modules.conf
edit modules.conf to your needs - recommend leaving as default
make it
# make installall
FREESWITCH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
add the path to your ld.so.conf
# vi /etc/ld.conf
add the line
# /usr/local/freeswitch/lib
run ldconfig
# ldconfig
by default freeswitch installs to /usr/local/freeswitch
to run freeswitch
# /usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch
freeswitch configuration located at
# /usr/local/freeswitch/conf/freeswitch.conf
