Ok been thinking over the way to change text colors as well as others in the skins like PM3 and containment without having to use a python script and come up with the idea of a Colors.xml for each skin which would have the same layout and function of the font.xml file like this wih definable color names that can be used inplace of actual colors
<colors>
<colorset id="Default">
<color>
<name>white</name>
<value>FFFFFFFF</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>black</name>
<value>FF000000</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>transperant_black</name>
<value>88000000</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>transperant_white</name>
<value>88FFFFFF</value>
</color>
</colorset>
<colorset id="Inverse">
<color>
<name>white</name>
<value>FF000000</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>black</name>
<value>FFFFFFFF</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>transperant_black</name>
<value>88FFFFFF</value>
</color>
<color>
<name>transperant_white</name>
<value>88000000</value>
</color>
</colorset>
</colors>
Then in the skin we can have things like this basically any color item thats not an actual color value uses the one from the Colors.xml and if it dosn't exist falls back to the default colorset and if it still dosn't exist goes to white or somthing
<textcolor>white</textcolor>
<shadowcolor>transperant_black</shadowcolor>
<colordiffuse>transperant_white</colordiffuse>
And in the UI right under the theme spinner you can add a "Color Set" Spinner to cycle through them
I know from a skin theme perspective this would be a good idea and from a non code point of view dosn't seem like it wouldn't require a major overhall of how things work or break compatablity with old skins
think its a good idea :;):
