I would need boscos help of course, which is only one of the reasons I
have been teaching him as much as I can over the past couple months,
what I do takes years to learn. Bosco still has a lot to learn about
unix/www however he is learning at a phenominal rate. It' is not about
"taking over" nor is it about a lack of time. I have been working on
the server for several hours a day every day, ask anyone what I have
been working on any time they message me, if i even answer at all
which is often the case as I often have ims on an isolated screen
without sound when I am working so I am not distracted. Bosco and
Aaron can both attest to this.
I have been asking for help from day one. However if you dont want me
touching the site that is fine, i do not know why you would have the
gears stop but thats not my call. I take pride in my work and ec has
never gotten any less than my very best work.
I feel about the website the same way you say you often feel about the
youth, you do it because it is needed not because you always want to,
and you get furstrated when no one understands or appreciates it.
Which dispite my mood is why i usually show up because I appreciate
what you do.
All my time has been taken WORKING on the server so everybodys sites
run smoothly. I spind most of the last couple days working on more
effective ways to get the dns server traffic to go and had about 5
people recruited on irc back and forth helping me test in depth ecs
connectiviy from various parts of the world.
As I said if you do not want me working on the site that is fine, that
is one huge less burden, but It is not for lack of me spending time on
it. I easily spend more time on the site than anyone spends working on
anything ec related outside of your family. The fact I have never once
had a thank you or the hundreds of man hours of free volenteer work I
let go because I did not do it for you, or ec, or anyone. I did and do
my best because it is for a ministry I have faith is on the right
track and to make sure they have the best website tho help faclitate
that. This is why many, many times I have dug into my own pocket and
gone nights without sleep to make sure it is at the best it can be.
You have let other people take over before like aaron and shannon who
both but forth a huge amount of effort that I commend them for, but
what it comes down to it is not their area of expertise with the years
of effort it takes to learn what is required to make a full
flash/php/unix webserver/site operate. I could and have always needed
HELP but any time there is anything tech related everyone just dumps
it on me and I have never once complained, Iive just done my best and
oftentimes failed to keep up with the massive amounts of work many
people expect from me. If i sound a bit miffed at you in this email
that is not the case so much as my general frustration. From your
standpoint I am sure it might seem as I am this big egotistical lazy
bum that goofs around on the internet all day and diddles with the ec
site once in a great while when he is bored. That assumption, which
seems to be a concensis, could not be further from the truth and is a
very offensive accusation that I am sick of having to defend myself
from.
In any event i said what needed to be said, I will continue to teach
bosco all i can, as i have been, because he is very intelligent and i
want to see him reach his peak for his own sake because he is my
friend and i want to see him succeed in the industry and in life where
I have failed. He however will not likely be able to "take over" as
you specified like you are wanting any more than i knew what http
stood for was my first year in the scene.
I will see you at practice and I am open minded to any reply. I seek
no division, only truth.
