Using your online speed test shows the following rates:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1693 kbps (211.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 637 kbps (79.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

However, I was sold 4MBps down stream, yet I'm getting less than 50% of what I was promised.

2006-04-07 16:41:45 Hello,

I see you originally ordered 6.0/768, but as your lines wouldn't support those speeds you opted to downgrade to 3.0/768. To be stable at 6.0/768 your line was provisioned in safe mode, and it was still in this mode after the downgrade causing your speeds to be somewhat limited. I've set your line back to the full 3.0/768 speeds and it looks like it should be stable.

As you may be aware, speed tests usually subtract 20-25% from the speed you're getting due to overhead, so you should now be seeing results in the 2 megabit range at speakeasy.net/speedtest/

I was under the impression that it was to be 4.0mbps, not 3.0.

Is it not possible to get 4.0MBbps out of my line?

2006-04-07 18:35:02 Based on the margins when your line was at 4.0/768, it may be stable, but could also have problems. Since we don't offer an actual 4.0 package, we would need to upgrade to 6.0 and then have it manually provisioned to 4.0. This package would cost an additional $10/month. If the equipment in your central office is ever reset (which is uncommon, but possible) your like would be default back to 6.0 and may be intermittent until you call us to have it set back to 4.0. If you'd still like to try for 4.0, let me know.
