P0149 XML compliant Signature GeneratorKa-Po Lam
As individual parts of the JPEG 2000 (J2K) standard, Part 8 (JPSEC)
deals with such security issues as authorship and ownership of the
image data, whilst Part 9 (JPIP) defines how interactive
applications between a client and server can be created.
Using the metadata stored within a data stream, the aim of this
project is to design a prototype generator which can permit image
'signatures' to be generated and (similar to the concept of
watermarking) to be exchanged across image-centric engines (eg.
image databases) in a networked/distributed environment.
By adopting a suitable pattern recognition methodology, these
signatures are expected to offer increasingly important
transactional information - licensing restrictions, client details
customer ..etc, in supporting security-enforced communications of
image-based information in a standard compliant XML environment.
