Basic Information of [uWoW] project , better known as : A.F.B project :
By combining their money and their knowledge , Pumba and Warden , did rent their own coders team .
The target was to built an emulator , that was as close as possible to the well known WAD-EMU .
The project , was built in MSJ# , and it includes clustrable threads . It is made of multi-threading .
It is very important to say it again : The A.F.B project , copies wowemu simplicity .
We had used WAD's database , we had turned it to MySQL (And it took quite a while ...) .
The main target was to copy WAD's functionality , and the way he placed things .
We used WAD's technique of Scripts and World.save - All turned to MySQL tables .
The server is clustarble - It is hosted in MY private server farm , and it is made of 5 computers , each holding 3 threads , when the 5th computer , is holding the WS , LS and RS . All the rest of the computers , are sharing Users-server , Update-server , Multi-realm server , Data-Transfarable-server , Admin-Operating sever ,
Account creation server , Interaction-server and so on ...
All the computers are connected to the same MySQL database . This database , is not yet to be decided to remain as MySQL , In the near future , we may turn it to Oracle .
The MSJ# language , gave us wide and rich oppertunities to code everything we needed .
The emulator successfully , copies WoWemu quests , WoWemu creatures , Items and so on ...
So , what is the Idea of A.F.B project ? , A.F.B , stands for - Attaching away From Blizzard .
Some of you may interpre this diffrently then others . We have decided no to depart to Burning-Crusade , neither to any of the following versions : 1.5 to 1.12.2 . Not because we cant change the OP codes , but because we have diffrent plans for this emulator .
For now , this emulator will remain operating an OLD version , because just like Blizzard did , we are going to Beta tests very soon actually , This February .
It is important to understand , that since we used WAD's emulator as a guidence , You may fined countless numbers of bugs , which are both similliar to this emulator , and to WAD's emulator .
The registration is not yet choosen to be public/private , and no details are out yet .
The russian group of coders , had given us the tools required to develop any script , any item , any quest , any creature , any system , anything we would ever like . We are also the explecit owners of this software .
So , What version will this emulator be using ? - We havnt yet determined but we already had implemented a version in the source . If you want to use it in 1.12.2/1 , you gonna have to use a Hack-patch whom i'll provide you .
What are the capabilities of this emu ? - Have you ever played on a WAD realm ? , It feels allmost the same , except for major changes in the .NET code , and the lag is reduced .
Do We need a hoster ? - Yes . My internet sucks . It will hold 30 people maximum , adding all those MySQL and clustarable threading , we jump to around 10-20 . I will not take ANY hoster , I will have to see that the guy owns a server-farm , to hold those capacities , and maby - I will jump for a personal meeting .
NO PROFITS ARE BEING MADE OUT OF THIS SERVER , it is FREE to play on .
NO - This server will NOT going to be let loose in the near future . As a mater of fact , It will never going to be released in the next year . We'll just wait and see .
Proof ? I can get you pictures . But I dont want to . Come to test our (Me and Pumba's) server soon , as we finish the arrangments .
