Limit how people contact you
You can limit how people contact you by changing the permission setting for the group of people that may contact you. You can also stop receiving e-mail requests for your contact information and e-mail notifications of new messages on your space. You won't receive e-mail requests to be on someone's friends list, invitations to Messenger, requests for your contact information, or requests for your space and profile information. You'll still receive messages in your space and invitations to receive someone's updated contact information.
To limit the number of communication requests that you receive:
Make sure that you've signed in (To sign in with your Windows Live ID, click Sign in in the upper-right corner.) to your space and that you're in edit mode (One of two modes that you use to work on your space. When you're in edit mode, you can customize your space, change themes, or add photos or a new blog entry. As you work on your space, you'll flip between edit and view mode. To get to edit mode, click Edit your space in the upper-right corner.) .
Click Options.
Click Communication preferences.
Select the permissions level that you want for how people send you requests. For more information, see About setting permissions.
To stop receiving e-mail requests for your contact information, clear the Also send invitations and requests to my e-mail address check box.
To stop receiving e-mail notifications when you receive a new message in your space, clear the Also send me an e-mail notification when I get a new message check box.
Click Save.
Notes
Your communication preferences won't prevent someone from asking if you want to receive their contact information.
When you create your space, check the permission settings for your space, your profile, and for how people contact you. The default permission settings vary depending on where you live.
