You are the Chief Information Officer of your own company (as identified early in the semester).
For your paper, due at the end of the term (please see course calendar for specific date) you are to write a 3-5 page (single space) description of how you, as CIO, will manage your company and the IT strategy that you would use.
You are to talk to the areas that we have covered during this semester:
Company Name
Company Purpose/Mission Statement
Who are your competitors?
What strategic approach will you take with your company? (p. 41)
What kind of commerce will you be doing (B2C? B2B? C2C?)
What kind of web presence will you have? What kind of features and information will you have on your website?
Types of organizational Information systems you would use, and for what purpose. (p 13)
What kinds of information will you need to maintain to support your company? (talk to systems in different areas
accounting/finance, marketing/sales, production/operation, human resources
What will controls will you put in place to manage and protect this information?
What would happen if all your information at your business was destroyed? would you have a disaster recovery plan? What would it be?
How will you recruit employees?
How will your employees do their work (at home?) Will you have any electronic workflow processes?
How will you handle payments?
How will you do advertising to attract customers? What will you do to retain customers
Will you use RFID technology? If so, how? How about wireless
