I understand, but, the settings in the bios I just gave you are not factory default settings, which is what gabe is using in his other colocated servers. Those settings are for his home computer which happens to use the same motherboard.
I feel that some part of the cpu is probably damaged, since factory defaults have worked on the majority of servers in this configuration. I am hoping that the damaged portion of the cpu is either the thermal sensor or related to the speed step algorithm. If either of those are the case, then changing these settings might help.
Since this is the second system of this type to exhibit this behaviour, out of 5 systems total (with the other three being identical but working fine), if this setting helps, then we won't be having these issues in the future.
But if you dont want to change it I suppose I can rma the cpu.
