17:14 <delewis> hmm, just tested how DB2/AIX handles a failed logical volume
within a tablespace
17:15 <delewis> basically, I have 4 logical volumes allocated across two disks
17:15 <hile_> lost a lv?
17:15 <delewis> my DB2 tablespace, testspace1, uses 2 of those logical volumes,
therefore, one logical volume resides on each disk
17:15 <delewis> so, I physically ejected one of those disks
17:15 <delewis> and because DB2 has previously cached that table, all was well,
and I could do SELECTs
17:16 <delewis> didn't try doing INSERTs, but that'll be interesting
17:16 <delewis> anyways, DB2 noted that tablespace container had failed
17:16 <delewis> but kept on chugging
17:16 <delewis> put the disk back in
17:16 <delewis> AIX reconfigured it, and DB2 noted that the tablespace
container was ready :)
17:16 <delewis> now, that's "solid".
17:17 <delewis> I wonder what Linux/MySQL would do if that happened
17:18 <delewis> other than roll over and die.
17:18 <hile_> oh haha
