OK everyone,
We now have another Sun machine. This is a nice large Enterprise
server, with 4 450 Mhz processors and about 500 GB of SCSI drive space.
I think it weighs more than I do.
This brings me to an important issue. It needs a SCSI controller cable
installed (we have the cable), and it needs an OS; Gentoo or something
else could work.
I was originally planning on getting people down to the SAU tomorrow to
do these things, but I think it will be easiest if this just stays in
one place as much as possible. I'll try to get the box going now; if
you can make it, let's have a brief Linux Day status meeting in the 1829
room tomorrow at 1 pm. (We have the room anyway.) I don't expect it to
take long.
A mailing list is in the works and shall be coming. I'll just use the
addresses I mail to now. If I mispelled your first/last name in my
contact book, let me know so I can fix it.
Ben
