Why does celiabacy become
Celibacy is the reqirement that members of the hierarchy remain unmarried.
only n western roman catholosism, many rites and traditions
eastern byzantine: ukanian, greeks, syriac, etc)
easterb byzantine has married clergy, married prior to ordination is ok
bishops must be celibate. celibaby is a discipline of life based on canon law (church law)
man made law, may and has changed in the future.
celibacy is not mandatory until the first lateran council.
prior prest could be married. eg. st peter.
but even in the earliest days of the church, celibacy was present.
why does it become mandatory:
1. following the example of jesus
2. sacrifice
3. enabled preist to devote more time/energy to his job
will it change, nope, not in the future, will relaxing the vow of celibacy solve problems, nope. will not affect vaticans.
vaticans to catholic preisthood has doubled over past 20 years.
