This has been a long, large and complex program. So much has been accomplished and delivered by many talented engineers. We are down to having days left to complete our implementation. We can no longer talk in months or even weeks.
And for all the strong and incredibly dedicated work that has been done the fact remains that the majority of people are finishing up their deliverables to hit 4/13 - the phrase "down to the wire" comes to mind. To ensure we meet our Feature Complete commitment (4/15) to the business, we will need everyone ready to work the weekend, April 14 and 15. While this is not ideal, the fact of the matter is we may all need to give our weekend to finish up. Please start arranging your April 14/15 weekend schedules to be able to support the project and your team mates. As we get to the end of next week we will have a better idea of what remains to be done and who is needed to make things happen and the logistics of the weekend. One idea is we will have a group meeting at the start of Saturday (start at 10 AM?) and Sunday (start at 1 PM?) to ensure everyone knows what they are doing. We will of course bring in food for meals and be accommodating of people's religious needs.
On 4/16 we start UT.
