Hi there,
We have some important news — we've decided it's time to close down the IRC and
XMPP gateways to Slack. After years of evolving, Slack is at a point where the
gateways can no longer handle all of our features or security needs.
We will close the gateways on May 15th, 2018. While your gateway experience
won’t change until then, we encourage you to prepare for the transition soon.
If you've been using the gateways for accessibility reasons, we're glad to let
you know that it's now possible to navigate Slack by keyboard (https://
get.slack.help/hc/en-us/articles/115003340723-Keyboard-accessibility-in-Slack-)
and with a screen reader, and there are many more improvements to come.
Still, we know this is a disruptive change. We’re here to help with this
transition in any way we can.
You can go to your gateways settings (http://slack.com/account/gateways) to
learn more about the upcoming changes and ways in which we’re providing
alternative options to the gateways right in Slack.
