I wrote in a while ago asking about changing the size of my volumes in bacula that are stored as files on HDDs. I have done some rough calculations, and since we don't have the money to buy too many new drives it would take around 6 years (not considering HDD size growth) before all 50GB volumes would be converted to 5GB volumes via automatic recycling due to retention time and lack of space.
So if there is a way I could force a conversion in some way, I would love that. I do have some space to work with, and a few tapes I could use as temporary storage if that would help to change it.
Also I would love to know where I should read about the different backup types. Currently we are only using FULL and INC, but would love to know more about the others as well.
