Pizza Demo on Asterisk

This was written as an example of how to make use of the LumenVox Speech Engine with Asterisk. The four main components of the application (Dial Plan) are the configuration files, grammars, AGI scripts, and audio files. These are all that is needed to successfully run the Gino's Pizza Dial Plan Application. It is assumed that you have some knowledge of working with the Asterisk Dial Plan. For more information about working with extensions.conf and the Dial Plan, see Asterisk Web site at <http://www.asterisk.org/doxygen/Config_ext.html>.

Installation:
If the files indicated below are placed in the directories per these instructions then no modifications to the Dial Plan are needed.

The two conf files in the PizzaConfOnAsterisk directory should be placed in the /etc/asterisk directory. Modify extensions_custom.conf to add the line "#include pizza_demo.conf" this will in effect cause this dial plan to be included and loaded when the extentions are loaded. Now, modify the extensions.conf default section by adding these lines "include => custom-pizza" and "exten => s,1,Goto(custom-pizza,s,1)".

Grammars are needed by the LumenVox Speech Engine; the ones used for this demo are in the folder PizzaGrammarsOnAsterisk. Just copy them into the directory /etc/asterisk/grammars

There are a host of audio prompts that give the demo its personality (it has lots of personality) so be sure to copy the sound files from PizzaAudioOnAsterisk to /var/lib/asterisk/sounds

Finally there are the AGI scripts that need to be copied from PizzaAGIOnAsterisk to /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin

NOTE on AGI scripts: There are some open source third party distributors of Asterisk. These distributors may not completely install the AGI Perl modules, Perl, or XML::Mini::Document. If you do not have these the Pizza Demo Dial Plan will not work properly. The reason you need this is when the LumenVox Speech Engine returns complex objects they are in XML format so they need to be converted into a format that Dial Plan can use if you choose to make modifications to them. Specifically in the pizza demo the results from the pizza grammar are a complex object. The object is converted a string and passed back to the Dial Plan. Later if the string of toppings needs to be modified then we can easily get access to the data.

After installation, you must restart Asterisk in order to load the grammars used by the demonstration. Also be sure that you have installed the LumenVox Speech Engine for Asterisk and, if necessary, the Asterisk connector bridge for LumenVox.
