Currently charged with remote administration of our six-server redundant production cluster, and on-site administration of our thirty-server server room. Duties performed included maintenance of old Red Hat Enterprise Linux (v. 3) servers, migration of said servers to a standard modern Debian distribution (4.0), user maintenance, server maintenance, and annual budgeting. I orchestrated the deployment of Active Directory into our mixed (Windows XP workstations, Linux file servers) environment, an upgrade to a new ISP (dual-T1), several VPN deployments (two internally, one at our production colo) utilizing the Cisco ASA 5510, and migrating many (15+) production Tomcat applications to a newer OS and architecture (from Slackware 10, Tomcat 5.0, and apache 2.0.30 to Debian 4, Tomcat 5.5, and apache 2.2.3) maintaining application availability, and previous customer data. Also was responsible for deploying an org-wide ticketing system using Request Tracker (RT) for corporate and customer use, internalizing production and internal server monitoring with Nagios, and creating/documenting formalized processes for application deployment, support processes, and various aspects of IT maintenance.
