Hi Jeff,
I need justification if I am to engage resources thus (for example) can you provide me:
total available market (TAM) information for DVB-S2 PC cards over next 5 years.
The proportion of these cards that Twinhan/KNC1 estimate to manufacture (market share).
Twinhan/KNC1 Feature set/ evolution roadmap e.g. Dual demod, integrated USB request etc.
The number of Linux users of DVB-S drivers
The estimated number of Linux users for 899/DVB-S2 drivers.
Manu may call me and I will try to provide what technical support I can BUT the questions are already a little too deep for me - I'll do what I can. If it's not sufficient then I need a reasonable story to engage precious resources. In short, why should I divert an engineer from integrating the chip set into a major manufacturer's STB? I need a logical well argued reason.
Regards Peter
Hi Peter,
Any update?
Could you provide the relevent info which Manu needs?
Jeff
Manu,
I understand that you are writing Linux drivers for the ST's DVB-S2 chip set. It is now the summer period and the work load has fallen to a more reasonable level. I kept in mind your need for support and am now able to offer you access to the software engineer that wrote the C low level application drivers for the STB0899+STB6100 satellite front end solution.
His name is Bechir (in copy). I am sure he will be able to respond to your questions.
When your drivers are ready please let me know, I will have someone 'check them out'.
Regards Peter
