Jen,
This is an extremely difficult e-mail for me to write; however, after much thought, I've decided to release you from your position as Personnel Director.
Over the past four months, I've continuously waited for you to step up to the minimum standards that I set for my Cabinet officers. I've had to track down monthly reports, find out why the new member queue has gotten lengthy more than once, check up on recommendations/vacancies, enforce that there is proper communication going on between your department and the Academy (per an edictified rule), stood up for you in complaints from other cabinet members regarding your attitude, and, in general, do more overseeing than I would like to make sure that the minimum gets accomplished. The final problem is the exchange of e-mails regarding the mid-term status of the Personnel Department. There has been no progress made on anything that you listed as a goal, despite numerous offers of any help you need from both Jack and myself. I realize that you have been very busy with your new job, but I feel that it would be best to allow someone with more time and initiative a chance at such an important role.
Thank you so much for your service to the club these past few months. It means a lot to us that you've been willing to devote as much time as you have out of your busy schedule. You're an asset to Fleet 6 and I look forward to you continuing in the less time-consuming capacity of AFComm there. I'm going to write the edict on Tuesday morning, so if you have any comments or anything, could you please get back to me by then?
