Pre-Exams Movie Marathon and Fundraiser!
Hey everyone. If you're anything near human, you're probably pretty pumped about the semester coming to a close. We at the friendly [url="http://css.uwindsor.ca/"]CSS[/url] have decided to organize a movie marathon to celebrate the end of classes, and have one last party/get-together before exams begin and everyone takes off for the holidays.

Date: Thursday, Dec. 7th, 2006
Time: 1PM to 10PM, possibly ending earlier depending on who can come/stay that late.
Place: Toldo Building, Room 103
Food: Popcorn, Sodas, and maybe Pizza if you bring money and want to chip in for it.

In addition to many hours of movie fun, we are also going to be holding a fundraiser. Being the geeks we are, or at least would like to think of ourselves as, we have chosen to support [url="http://www.childsplaycharity.org/"]Child's Play[/url], a charity which gives books, video games, toys, and cash to sick children in hospitals across the world (USA, Canada, Australia, UK and more). CSS has agreed to match the donations of the students, up to $500. So bring some cash, we will put it into a big jar, and at the end of the day CSS will match whatever is in and paypal it off to Child's Play.
So what movies are we showing? Well, that is entirely up to you! We are planning on starting with Hackers and then taking votes for others as the day goes on. We will likely have a good selection of geeky movies (Pirates of Silicon Valley, Tron, Office Space, Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, etc...) but feel free to bring your own (DVD format please) and we'll let democracy do it's magic.
The room we have is pretty huge and we expect a pretty social atmosphere, so feel free to bring your Nintendo DSes (DSs?), D&D kits, laptops, PSPs, whatever. We will have regular breaks between movies where Pop/Popcorn will be served compliments of the CSS.
Now, there are some rules, as always:
Because classes will be over, I guess the janitors are off duty, so we are not allowed to eat/drink in the lecture hall where said movie marathon will be taking place. We can, however, eat outside the hall in the common areas. That said, bring along a few extra bucks for food and we can organize a big pizza order, probably around 6PM.
