OpenPBX.org Development Begins in Earnest
A flurry of activity marks the beginning of OpenPBX.org development. Efforts so far include a new SIP stack, Auto configuration, replacement of readline and maintaining compatibility with OSX.
Right now the development could be described as organized chaos as developers race to fix long-standing pet-peeves. When asked developers and project members characterized it as "Rolling". One participant said "The OpenPBX deveopment effort over the past two weeks provides proof
that the FOSS developement mentality is a winner". OpenPBX.org has developed a big following in it's few weeks of existance, leading to many oft-requested features - such as autoconf - being
implemented very quickly" he continued.
After developers scratch their itches and fix niggling issues coding will progress with more direction.
OpenPBX.org is a GPL software PBX that exists as an offshoot of Asterisk.
Asterisk is a trademark of Digium.
