Okay, I've read back through the posts on this topic and I believe that I've come up with a workable idea. I'm sure that you all will find reasons why it's not, so I'm going to run it past you all before doing anything official. :)
One thing that I think everyone has missed during this discussion is that a lot of these tasks that we need accomplished are a major project once, then some minor upkeep. Instead of focusing on that, we're quibbling over just whose major project it will be and who gets to do the upkeep. Almost all of our departments are overworked right now, so I'm going to pose an idea.
I would like to see a task force (for lack of a better term) formed, with the instruction to come up with a plan of action to increase STF's public image. This would be led jointly by a representative of the Internet Department and a representative of the Personnel Department. Together, they can select a group of members to participate (perhaps three to five others?). After some reasonable amount of time (like, by mid-January), they'll pose their plan.
Once we have an actual idea of what we need to do, then we can figure out what departments it falls under to get it done. I imagine the work-load will be shared, then the IDept will keep the technical side going and the PDept will keep the advertising side going.
