Evening All,
So as some of you will know, I've spent the last six weeks or so in America. You may also have noticed, if you're on a ship with me, that I dropped the ball quite severely and am significantly AWOL on every ship. For that, I apologise.
Unfortunately, during the last two weeks of my trip the power was cut off at the house I was staying in and I just about had enough time on a generator to send Sarah an email letting her know what had happened. I wasn't able to get online again until I got back from America, and it's taken me a few days to get settled back in and to the point where I could turn my attention fully back to STF.
However, and here's the bad news, real life has hit me with a Jupiter sized curveball. I won't bore or tantalise you (depending upon your capacity for gossip) with the details, but suffice to say that due to various developing situations in America, I can no longer give STF a fraction of the commitment, time and passion it deserves with my current responsibilities and shiploads.
With that in mind and dropping the ball again to my own chagrin I hereby resign as Security Course Tutor, Fleet Commander for Fleet 5, Draco's CO, Endeavours GM and resident PITA Marine General and Genesis Chief of Security. I'm sorry to have to do it and over the past few days I've spoken with all but one of the people affected by my resignations, but my real life has to come first. I love you all dearly and I'm retaining my position as Entente GM (many thanks to Brian for keeping me on), so I'm not leaving entirely, but it would be unfair to take up so many important positions when there are others out there capable of giving the time and commitment to them that they so richly deserve.
I'll miss each of those positions and the people I've worked with through them, but the club deserves someone who can give more to it than I can. My thanks go out to Sarah, Geoff and Brian for their understanding and cooperation despite the extra work I've piled on them and to the crews of the Genesis, Endeavour and Draco for the time we've spent together. I'm confident the Draco will continue to flourish under her new CO and I hope that the Endeavour can find a new GM. There's never a shortage of people willing to play COS on the Genesis under Jen's excellent command, though my apologies go out to her for dropping this in her lap so suddenly without getting a chance to speak to her.
It's likely I'll also be dropping out of command, dependant upon time, so if I don't get involved too much from now on, you know why.
I wish you all the very best for the future and I'll see some of you in my continued torturing of the Entente.
